"locking-on" ;)

 By fitting cam-over latches, it is possible not only to secure the back of the car, but also to pull the back up tight so that the aluminium siding edges touch and the join is less easily seen. I also made some bracketing blocks which help everything line up. This evening I also started fitting internal and external trim on the removable back section.

What "should" this removable rear section be called?

back-bone





This afternoon I joined the two side at the back, which was a very tricky, awkward business. Then, this evening, I made endless adjustments to the sub-structure, to get it all to fit well. 
It is getting there.

Boat-back bent-wood trim

After soaking the trim for 18 hrs (in my custom-built wood soaker), I today bent my trim around my former. This will go around the top of the easily-removable boat-back rear section - continuing the line of wood trim in the front cockpit. I will also need a pair to go on the inside top edge.
